New label on diesel pump
I wish I had my camera earlier today...but will try to explain the label I saw on the diesel pump at Exxon. Basically the label stated that it was unlawful to pump diesel fuel with low sulfer content into 2007 and later model year vehicles.
I did some "googling" and found this document about implementation of the new Federal Rule, it mentions a pump labeling requirement to begin June 1, 2006. http://www.meoil.com/documents/FederalDieselrules2005_000.pdf Actually...doing more searches and found this page with a picture of the label: http://www.opisnet.com/market/decalulsd.asp As I read more...my guess is that the fuel in the tanks now is in transition and doesn't yet meet the 2007 standard? Also, will the new low sulfer fuel have any implications for older diesel engines? I did use the search function but didn't see this exact topic addressed... |
