AMG Kit on 1987 Mercedes 300TD - Awesome or Awful?

I cannot imagine myself spending $6000 for an AMG kit for the wagon . A wagon is not a sport car, and to make it looks like one just takes away the beauty of the car itself. I think it looks awful, what do you think?

Nosiree, a wagon ain't no sportscar. I don't care much for the rest of the kit, but I need the bumper cover to hide this hideous appendage that's inexplicably affixed itself to my front end.

I think it is cool as hell. Course, I'm a wagon guy. I prefer to call it a SUV with road manners

My roomate calls it the Arab Grocery Getter

Does anyone even know if that's a genuine AMG bodykit?

AMG Kit on 1987 300TD-Awesome or Awful?

Simlpy AWFUL! That car is so beautiful stock. I have a kit on my 1983 380 sec (came with the car) and I really don't like it. I also want to take off Lorinsors and go OEM. Some body styles are too nice to mess with and the wagon is one of them.

It'd a diesel!

OK... a turbo diesel. Even if I could get to an AMG wagon... a Diesel AMG is a stretch!

Of course, if they make an AMG diesel engine, I could get interested

It's very hard to improve upon a classic. Even the automakers know that.

That looks to be a 2nd generation style AMG bodykit. I can't say for sure if its a genuine kit, I figured the letters AMG would be visible in the middle of the front bumper at the bottom, but I don't see it. I don't know if they were available in two versions, homoligated and nonhomoligated like on the w126's.

Do anybody know whether there exists an AMG wagon? I saw a picture of a wagon with an AMG disignation on the discussion website, but since I can't read German, I'm not sure whether it was real.

Awful...but

I'd drive it, because the only time I get to drive my (wife's) TDT is when it needs attention.

I think it looks hideous.

I don't think it's a 5 cylinder diesel either.

AMG offered a W123 250TE or 280TE. there was definitively no AMG 300TD

Seller admits somewhere in the listing that its a 6-cylinder and in doing so admits he doesn't know much about it!
I also think its hideous
