Took the day off yesterday to do my front end, I swear it took me 9 hours to do half of the front, that took me from 9 am to about 6 pm. I started my other half, now its Saturday at 3 PM. I thought I would have this job done in about 3 hours. Its about 13 hours so far. Time just disappears in huge hunks, I swear, where it goes I do not not know.
In the same timespan I could have boarded a flight to Moscow and have gotten their. Obviously i havent left my driveway. I'm getting pis___ed. WHERE THE H_LL DOES THE TIME GO?

Does Diesel fuel have a special reaction with time?

If you live in WV, you might lose an hour and a half driving around looking for 10 metric screws and having to special order some and pay $8 shipping.

Great! Good to know that I am not alone...

While rebuilding the front end on my 79 300D, I got so occupied with the job that I negelected to drink any fluids in the 95 degree, South Carolina, July heat. Worked all day on it. Woke up in the middle of the night, rolled up in a ball with muscle cramps from Hell.

Got a bad habit of pushing so hard that I loose connection with time.

But alas, "Time is a human concept"...

My Volvo and Porsche are worse. I can usually finish whatever little project I have on the Mercedes in 3 hours or less (the Mercedes is in better shape then the Porsche or Volvo).

EDIT- Except for changing the starter on the Mercedes .

Next time you work on it, pretend that you are paying $85 per hour labor, you'll work faster....

When I work on any car, I tend to have a wandering mind. Laying under the car watching the oil drain, hmmm, wonder what caused that scratch, is the horn wire suppossed to hang like that, I need to tighten pan bolts, why is the right brake caliper hotter than the left. I work in an office on a computer most of the day. Puttering in the garage is my theropy. I like the satisfaction that I can fix ANYTHING if I have a book, or internet access to to sites like this.

You think time goes by on you when you work on the M/B?

Try rebuilding a roof deck that has water damage.......including partial deck and facia replacement and new roof deck drains..........I'm only about 1/2 done and two of us spent 10 hours today on ladders.

I also find myself laying on the garage floor, just looking at parts, almost in a trance. The other form of theropy is gardening.
