MC reservoir caps

Hey guys,

I did my brakes this weekend, and when I went to bleed w/ my trusty Motiv Pressure bleeder, fluid came spraying out of one of the little black caps that cover the "low fluid" sensors. Probably at one time they were rubber, but now have turned into brittle plastic. I see no reference to them @ Fastlane, only the grommets. Anyone know of replacements?

Thanks
BH

Call Phil on Monday AM. If he can't get them, they may be a dealer item.

Let me know what the cost is. I may be doing the same in the very near future.

I've two brand new ones with that part number that I bought for my 240D a year ago. They didn't fit my 240D's brake fluid reservoir setup. Apparently there are two different versions. Be happy to send them your way for say two bucks including shipping.

The later ones have a little "hangie down" part in the inside of the "cap", the early ones are just plane "caps", not sure when the change took place (80?). They seem to work for their intended purpose when they are cracked but they don't do so well when you pressurize the system I 've only found them at the dealer.

I've got an '83 and apparently there are two different styles of reservoirs and the caps are not interchangable. I think you need to order them by the manufacturer of your reservoir.

Thanks, Carson

Now that I know their "designation" I can order some.
