Fuel Fillip Question
On the Ford Powerstrokes, people have done what is called the Hutch Mod. What is done is that they cut the most of the filler neck and vent that are in the tank. That allows them to get a few more gallons before it shuts off. Is it possible to do that on an MB so I don't have to wait forever to pump in the last few gallons?

Different setup so I doubt it would be feasible. On the trucks, there is a section of flex-hose between the filler neck and the tank. Thus the filler neck can be removed separately.
On the MB, I believe the flex portion is at the filler neck.

Ohhhh... That would explain a lot.
I use a commercial biodiesel cardlock pump. It used to fill my tank completely, but then they replaced the nozzle with a brand new one. Now it shuts off with maybe 2-3 more gallons to go. Maybe it can't handle the last slow filling part?

On the truck what they would do is take out the sending unit, stick their hand into the tank and cut off the excess material sticking into the tank. This allows them to fill up to the brim. Actually, when it clicks off, they are able to maybe get 1 more gallon if they play with it. What it does is allow the foam to vent more easily
