On mine its a 100%--except I have a messed up motor which wil have to wait until the Fall when its cooler

All of that works perfectly on mine, except for the antenna motor and becker radio... but the radio cassette just died after a good 20K miles of use, so i can only use the radio. no tapes anymore. Time to get a new headunit and antenna motor/mast!

I have an all manual 1977 240D, I gave up on door locks about 10 years ago after spending a bundle of $$ to get it fixed, told my mechanic to completely disconnect the vacuum lines and have never looked back, also two years ago when I installed a new motor, I did not re-install the AC, I was told that I could expect to give up at least 25% efficiency over the old system if the system was converted to use the current coolant, the old York compressor never really cooled to begin with, so losing another 25% was totally out of question.
Aside from the above everything else works just fine.

Ugh. On my '78 300D, I'm sorry to say NONE of that stuff works anymore

But my '83 240D will be getting the engine from the 300D, and hopefully I can get it ALL to work.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. 82 300D Turbo 101,000 miles, still have the orig. first aid kit, tool kit, and orig. bill of sale. Garaged Florida car. I probably paid too much 3 1/2 years ago ($4,000) but with what I saved not fixing stuff you have listed, I guess I did O.K. Matt

I got all that too when I bought my '85 a year and a half ago. I don't think you paid too much.

All vacuum locks_y__ Surprisingly all three strong even
after a week of sitting.

All dash and console bulbs__ dash rheostat recently
replaced on '80, now the ''82 is out, replacement tomorrow.

Cruise Control___ Aftermarket on '80 works, factory on
'82 works, no cruise on '78.

Climate Control___ The euro wagons and domestic
240D are all manual and work. Center vent on '78
won't open.

Air Conditioning___ No AC on the wagons, 240D AC
blows warm.

Power Antenna____ '78 no '80 no '82 intermittent operation.

OEM Radio___ 240D Becker Europa radio yes, cassette no,
'78/'80 wagons have aftermarket tape/CD.

Uncracked seatbelt buckles, Map Pockets and MakeUp mirrors__
Mostly yes, '78 door swung shut and broke
map pocket on my knee.

Dash Guages__ Odometer kaput on '80. Fuel guage
sender on '82 getting flaky, mechanic looksee tomorrow
while replacing dashpot.

Sunroof___ Manual sunroofs on Euro wagons work fine,
no sunroof on 240D.

No rust___ The Oregon coast marine climate is getting
to the paint chips. And wrinkling the pillar trim, popping
and cracking the woodtrim, convincing the weatherstrip
of its age...
