Alda

The ALDA is for nothing more than to limit smoke at takeoff. Once you pass 5psi boost it is at full enrichment.

Proof: I don't use an ALDA. My MPG didn't change at all after I removed it. There were only two major changes from it's deletion. 1: A more "crisp" throttle response. There is no surge when boost comes on. 2: A bit more black smoke during takeoffs where I use 1/2 throttle or more.

In fact, here is my fuel log. The 12 and 13 mpg numbers were caused by a fuel leak. I removed my ALDA early March.

EDIT: Yes, I spelled receipt wrong....

Does that mean you are using full enrichment all the time? If so, that explains the low mileage numbers. You can get similar results by turning the ALDA fully CCW, but why would you want to? At some point you just burn extra fuel and make more smoke without any real increase in power. After everything else is properly adjusted, you should be able to find a ALDA position that gives good power below 2000 rpm without excessive smoke.

ForcedInduction,

Wow! your mileage sucks as bad as mine. Are you sure you don't have a California emissions car?
