I have a beautiful 1995 S-350 that I would like to keep forever. I do not think it will last very long sucking in all the crud from the EGR valve. I do not know the workings of this valve in relation to the engine computer, but when I plug the vacuum line at the EGR valve or the thing before the valve and drive the car 2-3 miles it looses power until I hook the line back up AND restart the car. I guess this resets the computer. What is being sensed and where to tell the car not to (I think) give full turbo boost. I want to disconnect this valve even if it means routing a new line to the air filter housing and welding a plate over the exhaust manifold hole for the EGR pipe.

This is related to vacuum transducers that control EGR & turbo wastegate. VERY high fail part(made is USA)! On this car if you have a running problem have the EDS computer checked for codes(w/engine running).

M.B.DOC--There is a transducer(i think) by the EGR. It is a small square that has a two lead electrical connection, one vacuum line on the bottom(the main vacuum),one line on top that goes to the EGR Valve, and another line on top that goes back the same direction that the main bottom line comes from. I have tried plugging the line going to the EGR, the main line coming in the bottom, disconnecting the electrical connector, and even connecting the main line and the other line that goes who knows where. When I do all these things the EGR is disabled as I want to do, but I have no turbo boost. How do I disconnect this valve and not affect my power and turbo boost?
Thanks for your help or anyone else's help that knows the workings of this setup!!

Oh How I Long For A Service CD On This Car!!!

When will one be available???

I disconnected the EGR valve on my car some 250.000km ago, but my car is not turbo-charged...

I didn't like the way the air intake looked like after the car had swallowed its own exhaust gasses for 125.000km...

greetingz,
