I have lost the answer that someone provided to me via email about three months ago - sorry.
The previous owner of my 350SDL had no less than six (serpentine belt) tensioners replaced in the last ten years. The receipts don't say whether it was the spring, the lever, the shock, or the pulley. The assembly vibrates at idle something fierce ... it gets worse and worse, according to the previous owner and then you replace it. The previous answer I received was that there was a new part that fixed this problem. I would guess it was the shock? .... Thanks in advance. I put a shock on my S-350 at about 115,000 miles and that fixed it. The shock bushing is usually what wears out but the whole assembly is not much money.

It is the busshing that wears out, but you have to replace the entire shock. The pasrt is around $19.00
