Redline diesel additive?

Hey guys,

I've been using Redline fluids in my racecars for years and just noticed that they offered a diesel additive called "85+"

Here is what they claim it does:

"Designed for use in all diesel engines. Contains extremely powerful lubricants, detergents, seal conditioners, fuel stabilizers, and rust preventatives, but without smoke suppressant. Instead, it contains additional cetane improvers which will boost the fuel 5-9 cetane numbers and additional lubricants which can reduce wear in low-sulfur fuel by 75%. This improvement in lubricity and cetane will reduce detonation, assist starting, help reduce smoking, help prevent fuel system wear and leakage and can provide 5% additional power and efficiency."

I didn't plan on adding it to diesel, but to veggie oil. I think it would aid in boosting the Cetane number as well as possibly help thin it out a bit.

What do you guys think? I'm sure there will be some nay-sayers about this product but please look at it with an open mind. A lot of people are/were skeptical about Redline's "water wetter" as well (aids in heat transfer) until they were quieted but a flood of empirical evidence

Its excellent stuff, but I have suggested anyone who ever sets up to do a Dyno test on their diesel do it without and then with Cetane booter, just to see what any measureable difference might be.
FWIW, Amsoil sells a cetane booster, and to my nose it smells exactly the same as Redline 85+
With the present WVO and Bio craze it might be worthwhile contact Redline and ask them if they have any info on using their products with other than diesel fuel.

Redline is a good, reputable company. I've used their Diesel products and Water Wetter for years. Your use with veggie fuel is something they may not have considered. Why don't you contact them and ask about it?

You can easily call them on the phone and they are very accomodating. I bought the additives from them directly (they are about fifty or so miles away from here...) and their customer service was excellent, especially compared to so much else mediocre hereabouts in the Bay Area where on encounters a snarky or pissy attitude or merely a mechanical voice as if from a horror movie.

I agree with others that this is good stuff. It certainly did clean up my injectors in the Jetta and it noticably increases the cetane (engines run quieter) among other things. I use their engine oils in all my cars and their MTL in my 240D's transmission and I think they're the best. But I also like the Amsoil fuel additives, and when it comes to cetane, I think nothing beats the Amsoil Cetane Boost to quiet down your engine with the lowest possible amount of the additive (one bottle treats up to 100 Gal). I also just bought the Amsoil Diesel Fuel Concentrate to use together with the Cetane Boost because the dosages are the same and they should complement each other nicely.
