sounds like it could be one of your sunroof drains that could be clogged

sounds like it is probably the front sunroof drains, im pretty sure they go threw the front frame on the drivers side. i cleaned my out by blowing compressed air down the tubes. i heared you can also stick somthing down there to pull the crap out thats plugging it up, but i have ot be carful if u do it that way so you dont break the hoses open, then u will have a reall mess, the other possibility is that the drain hoses could be rotted away, which means your going to have to replace them

yes you can see the front sunroof drains if you look up top when the sunroof is open, the water drains out the bottom of the car by the bottom beam were the jack whole is. there should be a lil "nipple" on that beam were the front sunroof drains out

I found the nipple on the bottom. when i blow air though the top some water came out the bottom, but alot of air comes out the end of a hose that is located in front of the drivers door near the hinges. is that normal?

Would that fix apply to a 1984 300SD?

I'm getting water into the right rear footwell, and we've been having a lot of rain lately. Are there drains that could be plugged on my car too (it has a sunroof)?

If its comming out the side by the door hing, it sounds like the drain hose has rotted away, and i havnt had that problem yet. but u might wanta wait for someone elses opinion.

as to answer the other question, yes there are also rear sunroof drains but u cant see them or get to them form the top b/c the sunroof doesnt go back far enough to allow you to see them. so to answer your question, the same exact fix wouldnt work. the water exits the rear drains threw the back trim pieces, if its clogged or rotted, it will go in threw the rear footwells

I tried the passenger side where it is dry, and i have the same result with the air comming out by the dooor hinge and some comming out of nipple on the botom. i can fell the end of the hose by the door hinges and it feeels like a factory 45 degree cut.

I had the same leak (drivers side footwell) for years, I tried everything to fix it but nothing I did made any difference. The leak occured in heavy rains and seemed to be worse if I drove the car during a rainstorm.

The leak totally disappeared when I had the windshield changed after a rock impact on I95. It's been bone dry ever since.
