87 300D - Anyone have these headlights?

I have been thinking of buying these headlights, but don't know how they'd look, and I cannot find a picuture of them already installed on a vehicle. If anyone has these lights, or knows where there is a picture of a car with these lights, please let me know, because I'd hate to drop $200 on lights if they will make my car ugly.

Yeah ive seen those lights on a 300E and they look pretty ugly on the car if you ask me. Im trying to hunt down a good pair of Euro lights for my 87 300D.

Something to consider about these new crop of "updated" Asian knock-off lights, is that the lenses are clear plastic and unfluted. Additionally, their mounts may not interchange with the original fluted lenses. Eventually those lense covers will break, scratch or become cloudy, and thus will need to be replaced. Where will you get clear plastic lenses...dunno? So, even if they mounted the same as the originals, the light distribution might not be compatible with original type replacement fluted lenses, which ARE available. I believe the TYC/DEPO knock-offs are virtually the same as Hella/Bosch, so the lenses are interchangeable. If you're gonna go knock-off, go with an original knock-off.

YMMV

btw: I'm running TYCs and like them just fine.

My excuses for highjacking this tread(sorry Jmana) but my question is
somewhat related.

Does anyone know if the area where the headlights mount in these
w124's are simular to the w123?
I.o.w.: size wise would they fit the w123 headlight opening?
If they are simular I was thinking of somehow make these work
for a w123.

Thank you.

Louis.

Thanks ive seen those already but i was concerned over them fitting correctly. I may go with katmacs/TYC aftermarket since ive read some good things about them and Zeitgeist seems to like them as well. Plus i can get the mount for the wipers as a add-on option.

I purchased mine on Ebay from Katmac. The kit included lights, lower panels and clear corners. I'm very happy with the products and service. If I weren't such a cheap bastid, I'd go ahead and send away for the genuine OEM Euros, but that would be out of character.

The Borbet rims are 8"x17" Fr and 8.5"x17" Bk. They're 500 mile "take-offs" from an '06 C230 Kompressor.

I have a set of those rims in the garage. I had them on a 190E 2.6.
