Does anybody have.....

The door mounted driver's seat control ....electric switch control. Looked in the parts for sale and on e-bay. Seat control switch is for 1983 300SD --has no memory function and no headrests adjustment. Just forward/backward and the tilt function of the seat back.

Thanks,
REgards

300sd 1983 seat switch

These are available from many sources including here, **************.com and performance products.

Note that you need an adapter kit as well as the replacement switches use different connectors - the 1983 style switch is no longer available (your MB dealer may have the real McCoy and after you've paid for shipping, genuine MB may not be much more expensive).

**************.com have a neat little book on how to take the doors apart without busting anything, that I can strongly recommend......

I have one (older, solder on type) that you could have for the cot of shipping, BUT I think you would be better off putting a new one in there, IF that's the problem. Better yet, make sure that you don't have a ground problem. Mine seat control was notoriously unreliable for years, turns out it was the ground wire that passes from the body to door that was mush.

They are easy to repair. Look in the search section.

I too have the 83 300SD soldered in switch.

Without removing the switch from the door I rebuilt the entire thing.
Even fixed broken shafts for attaching the buttons.

Sandpaper/file,
epoxy resin,
piano wire,
carbon fiber tube,
piano wire and carbon tube come from hobby store.

If you junkyard search for parts like the little buttons for seat and seatback be aware that the 83 seems an odd animal, other switch buttons do not fit the same way.
I found my missing part on a 380SEL.
