Can Fiberglass/Epoxy Resin adhere to POR15?

Can Fiberglass/Epoxy Resin adhere to POR15? I welded my floorboards but I wanted an extra measure of sound deadening and strength...

I bet it will Rich, mostly because fiberglass resin sticks to almost anything. It sticks very agressively to Rust Bullet when roughed up with a scotchbrite pad.

should work...

Make sure you use true epoxy resin and not the less expsensive polyester resin. Polyester resin is fine for fabricating new parts with, but it won't bond worth a hoot to other things. I havn't checked to see just what POR15 is, but it is probably a urethane. I'm most familiar with Gulf Coast and SW Corithane moisture cured polyurethane with aluminum flake; they gets really hard upon curing, best adheasion to it occurs when it is top-coated within 8 hrs, preferably 4, depending on humidity. If you've already applied the POR 15, sand it before epoxying to it. A normal paint system with a moisture cured urethane is : moisture cured urethane then intermediate coat of epoxy, then topcoated with an aliphatic urethane if UV exposure is a concern. What all this means is that regular epoxy (WEST?) should stick to it, but sand it first if it's been more than 8hrs after applying the POR15. You may have to go to a marine store to get the true epoxy. Select the hardner that best fits your needs (temperature).

What you'd actually be doing is adding an extra measure of moisture entrapment and weight.
