Priming the fuel with no injector tubes.
With the tubes removed, when priming the pump what is supposed to happen ?
I was expecting the fuel to come out of the fittings but all that happens is that I hear a noise like air is coming out when I pump ? is that normal. ? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...y/DSC00657.jpg |
I would not expect fuel to be expelled when the pump shaft is not turning. The primer pump will simply circulate fuel through the feed sump of the injector pump and return it through the check valve. I would not expect to have to prime the IJP at all since it is a displacement pump, and it will pass the air and fuel through the injectors once it builds up pressure.
