Just go down to the Lower East Side where all the street mechanics do their thing right there on the curb. Probably get all that done swiftly and for next-to-nothing. The streets are filthy down there from all that streetside wrenching. I mean much filthier than the typical Midtown street for sure.
Of course I'm half-joking, but if I could find a street wrench down there that's familiar with w123 and 617 diesels I'd have them do it for sure considering the prohibitive expense of doing it anywhere else in that area.

Alot of folks in a NY thread talk about a guy named Vito at Premier Auto in Staten Island. They never mention a last name.

It must be fun owning a car in the city, so its really more of a toy? But still being in the city you can't really work on it yourself, which is a major reason to mess with these old cars.

It's that darn double edged sword. I park the car at my Brother's home in the Bronx. He has a driveway but it's kinda small for repairs. It's my little project car and it looks good. There's no place to work on it in the city w/o getting a ticket.

Yep, I know a couple of people that live in the city. They gave up on car ownership. I can understand why, with the cost of parking ect.

You should come to the gtg on Sat, its only RI not to bad of a drive for you.
