I have been looking at finding a turbo that I can swap the compressor wheel and housing off of and hopfully get it to fit the om617 intake manifold(at least until I intercool). My best canidate so far is a TBO359, TBO360, or TBO369 off a 300 SDL. Each of these has a trim of 50 which has a wider compressor map that covers the OM617s rpm range better. At 4500rpm I calculate you will get about 1 hp from reduced backpressure alone. I would really love to get my hands on a TBO390 turbo from a 350 SD. It has a trim of 55. Although I can't find a compressor map for it I would think that this would be as much as you would want to run at reasonable boost levels.

In my opinion for most people a compressor trim of 60 is a bit much unless your running 18+ pounds of boost with some serious intercooling. Even then the boost will all be at the top end of your rpms. Of course your living at 5800 feet ASL like ForcedInduction. Then you would want a fricken windmill sized compressor

I can say for certain that if you intercool the stock 45 trim compressor won't cut it. At the high rpms you will push it outside its efficient area of operation on the compressor map and into the choke region.

I havent even touched my IP internals yet and I'm already at the tip-top corner of the KKK K26 compressor map. Good thing I have that GT22V waiting to get installed.

That's too high, they're $12.50 here

Also sounds like I need a 350SD/L motor, I need the crank for my 3.29L stroker and the turbo for my SD
