Can Rubber fuel line be used...

Can replace the injector hose with regular rubber hose (81-300sd)? My hose at the number one injector is leaking when I try to start it. It just started leaking this morning, I may have stretched it.

This goes along with my other thread about the car not starting...but I did not want to replace the hose with straight rubber if it would cause more problems.

Return lines from the injectors?

MB dealers sell this hose. It should cost you about $11 for enough to replace them all.

I think FastLane (link above) sells it too.

I know I can buy it through FastLane or vendors, but I can't start the car with a badly leaking hose. So, I wanted to replace with rubber until I got the OEM in.

Can I safely replace it, temporarily, with rubber hose?

It won't hurt anything, it's just a low pressure return line. When I've tried to do that, I had trouble finding anything that would fit well enough to prevent leaking.

My car had the fuel line (greenish in color and translucent ) from a weedcutter on it when I got it... It does not last as long a regular MB line or fit as well...but might do a while ... finding hose that will fit is a common problem since no clamps are used... the MB line will go on perfect and last 25 months 3 weeks and two days...

Whew...I am wound a little tight over this no-start issue.
