What are you all doing for the 4th (car repair or other?)

I know that everyone here is going to be working on the MB, so what are you going to be fixing?

I am going to replace a master vac switch and install an alternator on a 240d that someone stole, bracket and all.

Lets see:
Tomarrow working most of the day then I'm heading out fishing at night.

Sunday, racing Stars most of the day. Then I will relax on a nice sportfish, clean it a bit and sun myself in the cockpit.

Monday: As of now I am working, looking to get out of that in order to head up to my dads buddies new lake house for some fishing and relaxing.

Tuesday: I think I'll go fishing, and maybe try to track down a few vac problems on the SDL.

Fireworks will be shot off a raddom times during this 4 day weekend.

The shop is shut down for the summer, no car projects until the boats are away.

For the fourth

I'll be going to New York to see my son and some of the sights around the city. Not working on anything at all!

Have fun under the hood.

Since I'm retired (eat yer hearts out!), I try not to travel during holidays -- safer for me and mine, a little less traffic for those who don't have a choice.

So my plans are:

1. Finish the rear axle job.

2. Install new ACC blower motor.

3. Install heater kit in lower radiator hose (for winter trips to snow country) -- DG, didn't I buy that kit from you?

Jeremy

I doubt I'll get much more car stuff done this weekend. I had new tires put on the 300D today. Friday night my 11 year old is having a Birthday sleep-over for a bunch of her friends, then we are taking them all to a water-park all day Saturday. I don't know what my plans are for Sunday (haven't been told yet). Monday night I'm going to a concert that will probably last really late. Tuesday, I guess I will be doing the fireworks thing with the kids. I just picked up a new clutch cable for my bike, need to put that in sometime (mine looks like it's about to break). I also need to get some "real" work done sometime this week/weekend, before I go out of town again. I'm driving the 300D from CO to VT late next week.

I may attempt to fool the N65 in my '96 E300 into supplying output power to the M4 fan. If I can do that, I'll let it pulse, but supply the power separately.

Apparantly, it's been updated on my car, and the update includes a new N10-1 for over $700, not including version coding. I may have to do that. I need that fan.

Replacing that patch of carpet I had to remove by the passenger door due to the interior water leak from the "mini monsoon" we had in the Eastern Corridor. And for you grammer hounds I believe that was a "run on sentence" i just did. Then I'm driving my neighbors around in the benz to look at the "fuego works" on the capital mall, in washington dc.

4H shooting team shoots Saturday & Sunday. Monday, I'm gonna score major brownie points with the redhead by painting the laundry room. Tuesday I would like to just sit in river and watch the tubers go by.

What I should do is a steering damper, SLS filter, rear wiper fix, and tach fix...which will just about wrap her up. Then what will I do with my time and money???

Fix the fuel sender in the 300D. No matter how little fuel there is it's always a 1/4 tank full.

So much to do, in only 1 day!

I have this weekend, then I work on monday, I am thinking of tackeling the SD's radio and tracking down a trunk leak, I know the trunk seal has a tear in it, but I don't think the leak is coming from there, I think it is from the radio antenna... lots of fun. If I feel like it, I may change out the rear end for a nice 2.47:1 Ratio out of a 500 I found... maybe... #1 priority is the leak in the trunk though...
John
