identify the lock screw

I have set the screw clockwise and it gained considerable of power, but over did cause lost power again.
So what is the purpose of this set screw for? Something for the fuel supply?

Mines is a 300D non turbo, pre 78 , as it has the old GPs which ran in series of 3 volts instead of indivdual power of 12V.

And the little tube suppose to vent to atmosphere? no pressure nor vacuum.

ALso tried to tighten the screw on my 240D but it won't wanna go further.

TIA.

pics too big size, don't know how to resize it.

Is the set screw on the end of injection pump, looks like a mini tea pot lid, with yellow paint to lock screw.

Which set screw? The NA atmospheric compensation thing (like the turbo's ALDA)?
