Some pics of my new wagon

Kind of fell into this one - pretty car and drives very well. Not quite sure what to do with it. Anyway, thought I'd bring it out to the public.

Hot Damn!!
And 57k on the clock. Can that be verified. Even if not it's a sweet ride. Congrates on a awesome find. I'm jelous.

Makes my wagon look all beat up.

I think that blue and the red are the best colors for the wagons.

Wow nice shape. I'd keep something like that mint and in a garage. Keep the miles off her. Love the 904 blue.

Or you could flip it on ebay for $15k! Buff that sucker up more, take 100 pics infront on a large house, write up the usualy BS lines and take the money to the bank.

That is one gorgeous wagon. How did you manage to find and purchase such a specimen at a decent price?

It's got to be worth over $12K.......maybe considerably more.......!!!

Is this the rare barn find from a couple weeks ago?

My day will come, I'll get something for nothing, keep postive thoughts...

Yep, here is the link from several weeks ago for the background info, man how sweet is that, I would take it. I truly just love the all chrome rack on the top, super sweet.

Sorry I never posted again on my original "barn find" post. I left for California just after posting that, then never saw the thread again. Didn't mean to leave you hanging.

To get this "barn find", I came back from lunch with my family (I have a 3yr and a 1yr old) on Father's Day and figured I'd check Craigslist real quick for the MBs - it's a daily habit of mine now. Bam, there it was. I called her immediately, and she said she had just posted it for sale 20 mins ago - "that was fast!". I was looking at the car within 30 mins and gave her a deposit check. From the time she listed it to the time I bought it was about an hour and 20 mins. Love that Craigslist.

In my neighborhood, there are a lot of w123s, w124s, and w126s with original owners and garaged lives. This just happen to be one of them.

I won't tell you what I paid for it because I might sell it. I don't want to, but with two little ones, still some sizable debts, and my lack of need for a high-dollar fourth car, I might end up doing that. On the other hand, it's kind of a once-in-a-lifetime kind of car that will not lose value.

Tough call. I'm trying to look at it as a rolling savings account that will appreciate with good care, a locked garage, and monthly drives. But I know I could sell it and find another nice MB in my hood - heck, I just found out my next door neighbor has a white '85 300TDT with 130k (original owner who's currently out of town) that he leaves at the office and down the street is an '85 300D with 136k (original owner) who's daughter wants to sell it because he's in a nursing home now. I'm waiting for my neighbor to get back in town to talk to him, and I'm first or second in line for the 300D down the street.

I might be able to convince myself to sell this 57k mile one and use the money to buy a cheaper one and pocket the difference. Or I might just buy both my neighbors' cars, sell both of them, and pocket that money and keep the 57k 300TDT.

It'll be real hard to sell this car.

Wow!

That could get a pretty penny on E-Bay these days! I can understand the temptation to sell. But man, that looks like a keeper...

Man, you are in a trophy target rich enviroment!

Like you said, tough call on keeping it, mull it over real good...bet you've already had a few PM's! As a wagon fan, I am green with envy over that blue wagon...like chin mopping drooling envy. (I know, I know...the Good Book says "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife or MB wagon", in the case, but I sin rather often!!)

Congratulations - that is one good looking wagon. With todays market being what it is I could see you getting at least $16k for it. From what I can tell it has the proper r12 fittings. Does the a/c blow cold?
