Trans Cooler Hard Line -- This is not right...
I ordered a new left transmission cooler hard line from the dealer.
We looked up the P/N on his parts system and came up with 123 270 46 96. My old line was damaged at the fitting for the flexible line. The line is approximately the right length, and has bends in the right places, but the diameter of the banjo fitting is too small! The bolt won't pass thru the line. We looked again at the parts system, and it shows only 123 270 46 96 as valid. Car is an '82 300D. Anyone have any idea what's happening, and what the right p/n might be? |

My parts book lists # 123 270 33 96 as "line, oil cooler left" for the 1982 300D.
Hope this helps.

Here's their mistake. The #123 270 46 96 goes to a 1985 300D. The 1985 model switched to a different transmission, the 722.4. YOUR transmission is a 722.3xx for the 1982 300D. Different transmissions = different lines!
