I can't imagine switching from a MB to a honda, that'd be soo weird feeling, those new cars just don't feel the same. As for safety, in a collision between the latest honda civic and the latest MB C-Klasse or coupe etc....I'd rather be in the MB. I get 26-27mpg's freeway in my beast of a W126....and I drive over 2,500 miles a month....and its fine with me. Fuel costs are about 1/4 of my total income from my summer job.... "oh well"
Good luck with the civic, it will likely be a very reliable/long lasting car, its just not the same as a W123/126/124 etc... though.

Neither can I, I like Honda's alright. They are good cars and close to impossible to fualt.
But ehh no can do. I can only think of a handfull of cars that would make me defect from MB.

For the money, Subarus....especially the turbo variety are worth it and have all the side airbags, power, handling, reliability, and price to boot.
