I am going to see the car.
Nobody bid on the car so I am going to lowball.
I don't want to get beaten up though

Be sure to get a carfax too. That odometer doesnt have enough spots for you to know if its 80k or 580k!

Carfax does no good on a car older than 1981 whenever the standardized VINs came around.

If the car(I didn't look, but assume it's a 114/115?) is older than a w123 240D, carfax will be of no help.

Maybe I'll go look now--

**edit**

That, sir-- Is a nice car! You'll be very lucky if you grab it for the 2,500 bid! Even if it needs some mechanical work, that car looks absolutely pristine, NICE CAR!

40MPG is terribly high, I know these cars are lighter than w123s, but enough to make a 10-15mpg difference? Naaa
