Hi
Is a Dash from a 85 300D interchangable with a 79 300D?
Thanks

Sure is, just the textures may not match the center console. Those can be switched out as well but if you don't really care it is easy to do.

There is a minor difference, the location of the CC temp sensor.
In the '79 its right next to the R speaker while in the later versions it is dead center in the dash.
It should be easy to re-route the hose that connects to it. (the hose have usually turned to mush anyway!) hint: use some 1/2 in pipe insulation from Home Depot.
Are you so lucky to have a nice, uncracked dash? What a great way to raise the val;ue and appearance of a Mercedes!
I like the concept of transplanting a nice dash much better than putting on one of the dash covers (the thin plastic ones). I've been looking for a local dash in good condition for my 123 but haven't found one yet! In any color, there's SEM paint for color changes!
