How do I dye floor carpets?

I have some tan Mercedes Carpets that are really nice that i would like to dye to any hue of black, grey or blue.
I am not picky as to what color I get as long as it looks fairly consistent. I know there are alternatives out there like SEM paint and fabric dye. Has anyone done this type of color change?
The reason I need to this is I changed my Car interior. As i said i dont want a perfect color change, but something approximating the color blue, black or grey would ne nice. Since Tan is slightly adjacent to Black Grey Blue on the color scale ( ie, I am not converting Grey to Red or Red to Brown or something drastic) I should be able to do this...

I have never dyed auto carpets but have done home carpeting errr had someone do it. It's not a difficult process, but it's not quite I want a blue or brown either. They can tell you what color it will turn out based upon the type of pile (sic) and color the working carpet is. Synthetic carpet requires a special dye. I would speculate that if you hit the yellow pages and inquired to a company that specialized in this they probably would sell you what you needed. I doubt they would even be interested in a 25 sq. foot carpet dyeing job.
