Flat spot in acceleration.

I have a 1998 E300TD. I just replaced the o-rings and copper washer with the springs in the control valves because they were leaking. I have no leaks now and the car runs and starts fine. I don't have the same acceleration that I had before I changed the o-rings and crush washers. I torqued them until I felt the crush washer crush. Did I torque them to tight? Or did I need to torque them and loosen them then re-torque them. This car was very quick off the hop before and I have it chipped with an Upsolute chip. This forum is a wealth of information but the searches didn't bring up anything similar. My thoughts are that maybe some dirt fell in one of the control valves when I was changing things. I changed one at a time being very careful. It just seems like it's not getting fuel right away. Before when I disabled the ESP I could smoke the tires. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I believe they are suppose to be torqued to 25 or 30ft. lbs. I do not remember the exact value but it is close to that. Do a search on delivery valves and you will probably find it.

Were you able to smoke the tires immediately off the line or just once the turbo came on board in first gear?

That is the torque I used. You can feel the crush washer seat. Yes I could smoke the tires from a stop. The throttle response was immediate and now it is delayed but doesn't really kick in.

I am not sure what that may be. Is it possible the wastegate actuator is not allowing full boost?

Do you know if the upsolute chip turns off the egr function? Do you have any 0-60 times? Must you send your computer overseas or do they do tuning here in the states?

Rene Berube tunes it here in the states in Virginia. I think you might have something with the wastegate. The turbo kicks in but around 2700 rpm and it doesn't seem to come on full.

Turbo is back

I followed the vaccum lines and found one disconnected. I've got my hot rod back and it feels great. No fuel leaks. Once again something very simple. This forum really has helped. There is strength in numbers suffering together. ha ha
