Despite being spoiled by the 1998 E300, I finally did a little work on my grand-dad's 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada (like Chevy Blazer). When changing the air filter, I removed three wing nut/Phillips head screws. One wing nut/screw, however, was rusted, and metal filing chipped off when I tried unscrewing it. The fourth screw is in very tight and impossible to remove with a screw driver. I am worried pliers will break the plastic. Thanks for any input in removing the air filter cover and screw and even considering the Olds on a Benz forum. Any ideas or similar situations on the diesels.
