Three things that made my 1980-300sd a new machine.

Well it seems like new.
3 things that I never would have thought would have made such a big difference in driving the car.

1. Replacing worn out shocks made it ride sooo good it just blew me away; didn't know how bad the old ones were until that Mercedes factory ride came back.
2.New Motor mounts got rid of almost all vibration at idle. It just sits there an runs sooo smooth.... Blew me away.

3. Repadding the drivers seat so I sit up and am totally level made the car seem like heaven; this worked in the 240d also. They wern't all that broken down either; it seemed to make the car drive so much easier and I am sitting up and in command of my panzerwagen. Oh yeah; it blew me away. again.

These were just what i thought were minor items;... but are apparently major in transforming your machine to what it should be.

Did anyone else do a minor repair that made major differences?

On the SD - yes removing the bread ties that held the throttle together and buying the needed pieces from Phil ($5) made a big difference
