Need some advice on buying . . .
I need some advice on buying a diesel Benz for my daughter. I have seen some good articles on what to look for in other types of MB's. Has any one of you seen anything like this that applies specifically to diesels?
There is one on the MBcoupes forum that Satash and Jim B wrote that is really excellent. Maybe somebody has seen something similar about diesels. Thanks.

Anybody?
Comments, anyone? I have the impression that diesels are simpler that gas engines and therefore easier to work on. Is this a fair statement?

I don't think so. They're different animals, but that doesn't make one easier than the other. Both of them require regular maintenance - just different maintenance. Benefit of the diesel over the gas is longevity and resale value.
I would first figure out what model of car you want (w123, w124, etc.), then I'd learn as much as possible about that model, specifically what issues plague that engine/body.
