I need to replace the tranny in my '81 300SD. Which models interchange? I've been looking in junkyards and found a 300D that looks good.

I would think any 81-84 300SD or 82-84 300D tranny will do. You will need to changeover the speedo output from the SD if you use a D tranny. I do not know how hard this is to do.
