dash water leak

Has anyone experience water leaking from the outside when it rains and coming out on the left hand most side under the dash? I was looking closely as where the source might be but nothing jumped out. I was thinking its either thru an a very well sealed windshield or thru the wiper arm where it goes thru.

Thanks

Mine was the windshield seal. Leaked down the left side, behind the dash. If I wouldn't have had the interior stripped, never would have found it. Lower left corner wasn't sealed anymore.

sounds like mine's the same. I ran my water hose outside on the windshield to simulate rain and after about a minute it started dripping inside in same spot. How did you stop the leak?

I did it the expensive way, got a windshield seal from Phil, and took it in and got it installed along with a new windshield. Only works if your channels are rust free.
I have heard of some people masking off the windshield and running a bead of black caulking around the sides and bottom, but I didn't do it like that.

I found my leak the same way you did,, had the wife with a hose.

Petroleum Jelly or grease

I spke with a buddy who has had a few of these cars. His suggestion is to first apply petroleum jelly around the seal. This would help expand the dried out seals which he has found is what casues the leaks. I can see his point.

He said that at least if this is not effective that you can try the next step without messing things up. I was thinking more about applying black silicone sealant under the rubber (pry it open). But I'll apply the jelly first on a hot day so it'll seep in.

I applied black silicone under the windshield seal (between the glass and the rubber) and it stopped my leak.
