Can the switch or sensor be replaced on the receiver drier that goes to the Compressor clutch??? I have been working to find a reason why my AC compressor does not kick in when the CCU is turned on to AC.. Well somebody suggested to jump the 2 wires on the drier and see if the ccluch works, well it does, also if I jump the other 2 wires the front fan works as well... I went to add a can of R12 to mine today and the only way I could get the AC to come on was to jump the 2 wires for the clutch. It then took the freon and started producing cold air at the vents...I unplugged my jumped wires, hooked them back up to receiver drier, and no action on the clutch......While ading freon, lines got cold, expenasion valve got cold, didn;t have a thermo to check temp at vents but it was cold...Could the CCU itself be bad??? I let car set for a while, had company come, so when I got finished went back to car cranked it up, no cold air, no action at clutch..I probably got a leak somewhere, but jumping the clutch is not right, and I don't know what is wrong....I have another CCU coming from a friend, will see what that does...Any ideas????
