Valve adjustment...intake valves

I did the valve adjustment on the wife's car this afternoon...easy job, not the first time though. I have noticed the last couple times I have done this that the exhaust valves are usually dead on, but the intake valves are all way too tight. Why is this?

I have noticed this also...especially on the turbo engines. All I can say is that the intake valve must be softer on the valve face.

When ever I adjust valves on a 61* engine all of the valves are usually tight. Seems odd that they tighten as opposed to loosen with use.

My first time adj...

Just did valve adjustment for the first time on my car - I've noticed just the opposite: all the Intake valves were OK, but ALL of the exhaust valves were really tight! I wondered why that is myself?!

I couldn't tell you when I last had to adjust the exhaust valves on this car. They always seem to be spot on, but the intake valves are always way too loose. I would think they would all have to be adjusted about the same amount.

The valve continually pounds itself into the seat and, over time, the seat gets compressed. When the seat gives way to the valve, the spring pushes the valve closer to the camshaft.
