Lost Gauges, AC, and Cruise!

1987 300TD. Tonight I lost Temp, Oil, Fuel, and Tach, also Cruise and Air!

Clock and Spedo work. Lights work.

Any thoughts???

Thanks,

Joe

Every item on your failure list is powered by fuse #5.

Fuse#5 is ok. The relay for the rear wiper/flashers etc is buzzing, but all of those things work. The overload relay was giving me problems but That has been working for the past week.

Last night when I started it up (warm and run for an hour prior) the gauges were out, the AC and Cruise did not work. All else seems to be working except the shutoff, but I think that is a vacuum problem.

OVP or #5 fuse.
My 78 bmw has a fuse that doesn't blow but won't pass dc either.
If your fuses are old but you don't want to replace them, at least twist and rub them for better contact.

Boy do I feel Dumb. The top row of fuses is A,1,2,3,4,E (I thought the E was a 5). The #5 fuse WAS broken, not melted. Changed it and all is well again.

Thanks for all the help. I'll be getting my eyes checked real soon!!

Thanks,

Joe
