Mileage Badges

I was just reading the Threads when I saw a photo in the shopgallery header.
It was a photo of Veloce300DT's 300D...He/She has one of those prestigeous mileage medallion on his grille, along with a very nice looking "Stuttgart" badge. Someone asked in the comments about this badge, with no reply.

so I pose a few questions:

Do I have to be American to request one of these badges? (I live in Canada)
Do I have to be the original owner?
Has anyone seen one of these "Stuttgart" badges?
Where can I get one?

Oh, Veloce300DT, really sweet looking car!

The mileage badges are free, you just go to the dealer and have them verify the mileage on the car. As for the other badge, try a google search. I have a German eagle (like my avatar) on my car. I found it through google.

Go to MBUSA and search their site for the downloadable form, complete it and have it signed at your local dealer.

The badge is awarded to the car. Doesnt matter who owns it or who drove the miles.

Anybody have a link? I searched for it but didn't turn up anything. I have a feeling the email I sent to "MB Classic" won't be returned.

Okay, that's all well and good, My car has 413,000Km on it.
It runs great, do I apply for the 250,000 one? or do I have to wait till 500,000?

and the application says "US residents only"

The mileage badges are pretty cool. Kinda cheap though, the chrome or wahtever has worn off on some parts of my badge, leaving white paint... it's been about a year and a very gentle climate :\

I have the 250,000 km badge, and it came with a nice little certificate. I bought it with enough miles to earn the badge, and I had driven the car for 2000 miles, but mine took 3-4 week to arrive.

Speaking of Stuttgart...

...should you ever get there, the Mercedes museum is a wonderful place to visit. We visited in 1979, barely got in. We had jumped off of our train in Stuttgart and called Mercedes. They said they were closed because of the terrorists but when they heard we were American tourists they said, "Come on over." We found the U-Bahn station and went. Had the place mostly to ourselves and it was great.
