Window Regulator Bushing w126 - see photos

Hi

Can anyone identify these two attached photos with the description of the part in this link?

Window Regulator Bushing (White Nylon)

There isn't a single parts site on the net that has a working photo..no doubt they are driven off of the same parts database engine.

Thanks

Bob

I just went through this problem on my boss's W126. There is an acutal photgraph. It was replaced with a solid sliding jaw of older manufacture. It looks like a solid piece of teflon as opposed to the composite construction of the new one.

EDIT: More details as requested by someone....cough....Brian.

The back had to be ground off with a grinding wheel on the regulator arm to remove the rivet metal holding it in place. Then after 15 seconds of wrenching it with a big pair of pliers it worked its way out. To accept the new shaft of the sliding jaw, the hole in the arm had to be drilled out. Slip the new jaw in and then give the end a good smacking with a ball peen hammer over an anvil until it looks like the pictures below.

As for where that specific sliding jaw type can be obtained is a question. I have no idea if those can be found but I will ask.

I purchased one at the dealer for my sister's car a year or so ago. It wasn't too hard to install, but definitely don't try to do it in the car. You need to peen over the rivet and you'll just make a mess or break something if you don't have it on the bench.

Right on. Thanks. I may just go to the stealership to avoid the shipping costs. I just wanted to make sure it was a separate part and not one that only comes with the $200 regulator.

My piece comes apart with a table on either side holding it in place so hopefully I can do it in situ.

Cheers

/bob
