Loud ticking sound during acceleration in 240d

ever since my 240's unfortunate run-in with a snow bank (pictured below) whenever i floor the accelerator, a loud ticking sound emerges. it makes the car very loud from the outside, and is quite obnoxious. any idea where this is coming from or if i knocked something loose? thanks again.

First you need larger wheels and tires if you are going to continue parking on snowbanks. Really though I would get the car on a hoist and start by checking if the various parts of the driveshaft are not damaged. Especially the flex disks. These are really important as if they let go the damage can be signifigant. Also the centre bearing area as well. My limited reasoning is they were basically bearing perhaps a lot of the load when you were sitting up there. Not designed for that function at all. Also check any other area that may have had an undesigned for heavier load han normal. I might even take a gander for any upward floor displacement at all as well. But that is unlikely. Could be something as simple as the exhaust system has been moved a little and when you come on to the car the engine torque is moving something into contact with it. That is very easily fixed.

Does it make the sound only when driving? Have you popped the hood and manually operated the throttle linkage?

Ayrton's post makes sense about checking the flex disks and exhaust.

Check to see if the fan blade has been hiting anything.
