350 sdl transmission stuck in reverse... help

I backed out of the drive and this happened today for the second time this week. Went into reverse and then would not come out of reverse when I shifted to neutral or drive. It goes into drive and it feels like the forward fights the reverse and the car cant decide rather to go foward or backwards. When I put it back in park it seems to not come out of reverse and it seems to fight the park also like if you rev it up in park you can feel it fighting park. Is there a module or vacuum unit that could be the issue? This happend the other day for a couple mins and has been fine until today. The linkage seems to be fine and the fluid was changed about 3 months ago along with the filter and it all looked clean etc.. . And yes the fluid is at the full mark.

I was also told that there is a reverse rod that could be broken that could keep it held in reverse.
Any Ideas??

Thumbs up

Check your linkage.

Worst case, drop the pan to disconnect the linkage. Then you should be able to move the manual valve by hand. Don't plan on driving anywhere tho...

the bad thing was, I had to drive it down Dale Mabry for 5 miles from the bank in reverse to get it home. Everyone was looking at me strangely.... just kidding, but I was wondering if that would be illegal to do that.
