73 GMC Classic motorhome - trade 4 MB diesel

I have the GMC up for sale ($9,000) and someone offered to trade me a Cadillac for it, while I don't need a Cadillac I decided I WOULD be willing to trade it for a nice MB diesel - maybe a 300SD, CD or turbo wagon. So if anyone has interest, please send me a PM for more detail on the RV.

Sleeps 4, wet bath/shower, gas stove/oven, 4kW Onan generator, roof pod storage, hitch.

Pics here:

Thanks!
John

Drive train

I seem to recall that those were made with Toronada (sp?) drive trains -- gas V8 front wheel drive

Olds 455 V8

Not a diesel.....big block V8 and yes it does use the FWD drivetrain GM used in the fullsize Toronados - it keeps all the drive parts up front and allows the floor to be low to the ground - better handling (drives like a van more than a traditional motorhome) and allowed GM to use the airbag dual-wheel rear suspension similar to buses for a very comfortable ride.

There is a large following and forum of enthusiasts similar to us with the Benzes on the GMCnet. They assist with the same kind of answers and assistance.

Looks like a 23' Glacier, with the blue striping removed.

It sleeps 4? I thought they slept 6 - Unless that was only in the 26 footers.

23' Glacier

It is a 23' Glacier (originally powder blue). It sleeps 4 - the 26' model sleeps 6, but is not quite as parkable and maneuverable as the 23 footer. Everything else is remarkably similar.

The 23' is much more suited to the single roof A/C and the 4k Onan generator.

The 26's are just too big in the summer, and really need a second A/C unit, but the generator can't handle two at a time.

Is the fuel capacity the same? 2x25 gal tanks?

btw... the prices they can command, are sometimes astounding.

fuel capacity ...

Is the same...2x 25gal tanks - really they overflow into each other...

you are right - the 26' doesn't cool as well as the 23' with one ac unit - I've seen them with 2... you just can't run both on the genset - only when hooked up.
