My wife was driving three years with the front driver's and passenger's windows slightly tinted (which is illegal in many areas) and nothing happened, then was stopped and given a citation and had to have the tint removed! A friend was cited for having no plate at the front, but you can see plenty of cars running around without the front plates. I didn't have one on mine for more than three years, stopped by a cop once for a busted light but he didn't say anything about the missing front plate
True, in daly city youll get pulled over for almost anything. Its the reason i avoid the city as much as possible. They will pull you over for those blue tinted bulbs, tint in front windows, loud music, shoot you name it!

I have light tint in the front windows of my 300D which were already on it when i bought the car. But im planning on removing it because it turned purple (cheap film) and remove the back as well to get 5% limo tint in rear and nothing in front.

My aunt had limo tint in the back and the lightest available in front, but was pulled over several times on the bay bridge for the front tint. Her first car was a chevy cavalier and came with limo tint in the rear and front windows, but was never stopped.

Funny how years later she gets pulled over for having light tint in the front but never gets pulled for dark tint in her old car.

I am really curious now if any state is issuing the europlates for the rear, or if the two I saw were people who didn't care if they got caught. The last one I saw was on a jaguar and the plate was brown in color, I couldn't get close enough to see a state on it. I'd be interested in getting one if they are issuing them in NC.

Saw a German plate on a German GT2, car was only here for a bit...wonder how that is legal...great way to rack up 200mph+ tickets and not pay them...

In CT at least they are very clear about this, they give you two plates and expect you to use them. But a lot of nice Euro cars have Euro plates hanging off the front bumper and the cops don't seem to bother with them. I'm going to leave it there until someone says something.

SOMETIMES Euro plates are NOT illegal...

If you ever see one with the city letters (first two) "HK" or "AD" They are military coming home from Germany (only legal here, in NC for 30 days). German plates (for the locals over there) have 3 formats: 1 letter- BIG cities ie B=Berlin, M=Munich, F=Frankfurt. 2- letters Moderate cities (including Hanseatic League WARNING - History lesson)
FD=Fulda (used to live there) HH=Hanover, HU=Hanau. 3 letters- little sheep hearding, barley growing towns or counties (where you will find the BEST beer and smoked sausage) WAK=Wartburg Kreis(county where Martin Luther "vacationed")

Sorry for beeing a smarta$$ (again...), I can't help myself: HH is for Hamburg (Hansestadt Hamburg), H is for Hannover.
