240D intermittently loses power

’79 240D intermittently loses power. I can drive at 65 mph and the car will start to run rough, lose speed down to about 50 mph (max speed) and then regain power. It loses power for less than one minute before it regains speed again. Does this indicate anything specific to you?

Loss of fuel flow. Try changing out the fuel filters under the hood first. Make sure you fill the spin on filter up with fuel or fuel additive prior to installing it. If this does not help check the fuel tank vent located under the car in front of the drivers side rear wheel well and if that does not do the trick clean the fuel tank screen. Have you just recently gone to burning biod?

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. No biod.

Yep I agree. Make sure the fuel flow is fine before moving to other causes.
