w123 wagon roof rack options
I'm looking for bicycle rook rack options for the factory roof rack.
I've looked at Thule and Yakima but they do not offer any pieces for attaching to the factory roof rack. They want you to buy thier legs and cross bars. I've seen bike racks on the factory roof racks. Where are they from?

Many, many folks have asked the same question. The answer is use the OEM rack or rig up a Thule or Yakima rack.
We have the Mercedes factory bicycle rack for our 124 wagon. It has the manufacture's name on it (I can check it later). It's a German company that made the rack OEM for Mercedes. It's expensive, but a dealership could get it for you. The set is six pieces. Two "sports" crossbars (not the regular, cargo placement crossbars) that attach to the existing roof rails and four bike mounts. It works really well. I'm assuming the same equipment exists for the 123. I'm pretty sure Thule and Yakima make crossbars that will attach to your existing rails. I would take your wagon to a knowledable Thule or Yakima dealer and ask them to test fit a set up for you.

I’d be curious to find out if there’s a source for the OEM parts here in the U.S, and if so, what the cost is. If you check e-bay in Europe, they’re a dime a dozen. I bet a U.S. dealer or the Mercedes U.S. classic center could get them.
I checked ours, and there are two names stamped on the parts. The crossbars show “Zubehor” with the Mercedes Benz logo below the name. The bike mounts show “Oris” on the bolt that tightens the bike mount to the cross bars. The crossbar mounts have fittings that seat precisely to the roof rails. I tried to attach pictures below. If it were me, I’d check into that Thule kit that adapts to your rails.
