What causes the need for injector replacement?
I have noted a lot of injector problems on the board and am wondering why that is? Fuel, filters, oil, driving?
I have not had to replace my injectors or have them tested, ever. Good starting, power and no smoke except when valve adjustment time comes (20k to 30K) and mpg has always been from 25 mpg to 30 mpg. What should be the life span of the injectors and what makes them die young?

I dont think that injector problems are that common. I think people like to attack them early in the troubleshooting process in the hopes they can fix whatever is wrong. Most times those people are disappointed when they find that the problem is still there or perhaps worse because the new injectors were not calibrated. I replaced some injectors on my 240D cause they took a physical beating from busted prechambers. However, the new ones made no difference in how the car ran. Perhaps I got better mileage but not enough to really notice. My rule of thumb would be that unless you have really poor mileage or you hear it nailing/see it leaking, leave the injectors alone.
