Is anyone here using Bosio Nozzles yet?

I'd like to hear comments about them, installation, how you like them, etc.

Thanks!

We put them on our 1983 300SD 617 diesel, took a while for them to "break in" (about 400-500 miles) but now the car runs smoooooth and has tons of power, a significant improvement over the ancient bosch ones they replaced. I highly recommend them!

same as pawoSD. Was disappointed at first as nailing and smoking continued on my SDL, but after 500 miles at 85mph she purred like a kitten (like an S-class should!).

will do the same on my 300TD when I get the time. It runs fine, but I'm sure new nozzles wouldn't do a bit of harm as I assume the original bosch ones are still in there.

Installed the nozzles on my 81 240D about three months ago. I notice an instant improvement on engine operation at startup, smoother running with the disappearance of nailing. Over the course of break-in, the engine seems to be producing like new power. I am happy with the results.

The process of removing, rebuilding and re-installing each injector was easy to perform.

Visit the DieselGiant website. There's a step-by-step on installation there, with pictures.

well, I have a pressure/spray tester, but I didn't have the time or shim set to recalibrate. I'm not artisanal enough to fabricate my own shims so figured if it runs well, no immediate need to rebalance.

Bosio Nozzles

Who sells bosio nozzles and how much do they cost? What part number for an 84 617 turbodiesel? Need any special tools to put them on existing injectors? I suppose I should get the injectors tested before retrofitting them.

He sells them for $30. And since he has taken the time to do such a nice pictorial, he deserves the business. It's great to see so many good results -- I need to do a set soon, and I'm keeping the Bosios in mind.

I put them in my 240D. They nailed like crazy for a bit. I even took them apart and reassembled them once to make sure I didnt screw it up. After a few hundred miles they stopped nailing and all was good. I would say they work well, just dont be upset or worried if nail for a bit at first.

Is that 30.00 each nozzle, or for a set of five?

Each. $120 for a 240D, $150 for a 300D.

bosio nozzels

does anybody have more feed back about smoke and mpg with these nozzels.
I would like to buy a set but would like to see some mpg gain. I am using a set of bosch re-mans that which were made in france and have 50k miles on them and I feel they are a little shakey. any feed back would be appreciated.

Improvement by using these nozzles is realtive to your exisitng condition. If you have a lot of smaoke now cause by worn injectors then these will help. If your gas mileage sucks now cause of worn injectors these will help. They will not fix other preexisting conditions nor do they operate any better then new german nozzles would. If your car runs well then I would avoid making changes. If you think your existing injectors are no good then I would use these nozzles before i put in a new Bosch rebuilt one. All that being said, you could pay the same or less to have your existing 50k injectors pop and spray tested/calibrated and be better off still than tossing in uncalibrated Bosio nozzles.
