116 vacuum part ?
 

1979 300 SD
On the firewall between the throttle linkage and the AC hose I have a gizmo (tech. MB term for what the hell part is that). It is mostly carmel colored, has a roughly 1/2" "knob" on the top, a 1" sq flat black front side, a 1/8" horizontal hose connection pointing toward the brake booster, another hose connection pointing downward and a two wire plug on the pass. side. As you have guessed, it is not hooked up, shows no sign of any vacuum lines having gone to this part.
What the heck is this part?
What does it do?
What lines (color please) are supposed to be connected and to what ports?
I've searched my MB CD manual , illistrated guide, pulled out hair, pleaded with new Gods, bowed down to S...gard and promissed ...

I have a 1979 116120 that runs great. I don't know what the part you are looking at is, or what it does, but i can pop the hood on mine, take a look at the connections, and let you know what they are if that would help. Won't be able to get to it until this weekend.
