Old used tranny 4speed shifter for 240d 1982

I got a used thenny shifter for my 1982 4 speed manual 240d. I cleaned it up because it was dingy. What should I use to oil or grease it for smoother movement. RAY M

I used some graphite chain lube I had lying around. Seems to work well, but I don't know what the factory recommends.
