ULTRA RARE 350SDL on Ebay

It's rare enough to see heated seats in a 350SDL, but to see one with a POWER SUN SHADE...this is the first I has seen on a 350SDL.....I am drooling over this one for sure. It's in what appears to be pristine condition. At 131,000 miles it could be prime for engine failure. Would love to know if the engine has been replaced by MBZ. I see seller is using the "private" bidder auction, normally used for hiding shill bidding, regardless what the seller says. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Benz-300-Series-350SDL-1991-350SDL-W126-TURBO-DIESEL-WARRANTY-FLORIDA-LO-MILES_W0QQitemZ230018337784QQihZ013QQcategoryZ6330QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

From what I have read here and other sources about the engine in those models, I'd want to stay away!!

Isn't that the infamous ebay scammer seller? All his pics seem to be taken in that SAME spot...

Anyway, mine has heated (F/R) plus power recline in rear. Crap doesn't work tho, I didnt know it was there until I started putting the interior back. So much was missing when I got it, the CCU, radio, ash tray, etc.

Those dual rear buckets were an option on the SDLs (300 and 350s) so was that lumbar seat.

I'm going to be adding SLS to my SDL, so stay tuned for that...

Yeah, those are rare, but you dont even see rear sun shades on most 560SEL's, let alone the bottom of the line 300/350SDL.

I added the 4 place/heated/otho seats to mine, but have yet to ever see a 300/350 SDL with all that equipment from the factory, though I guess there might be a couple, just have never actually seen one or a picture of one.

I've seen a 400E with that sunshade. Pretty slick.

They weren't available on the '86-87 models.

I don't think I'd ever be able to find a maroon four place seating. I have those setups in the BMWs tho.

Hmmm, could have sworn I saw a pwr sunshade on a 1987 560SEL back in the late 80's.

Find any color and dye them with leatherique. My 4 place seating was black already so that was good, but my 89-91 door panels were cream so I had to dye them with the Leatherique, perfect match now.

Nope, not in 1987.

Here are options for the S-class:

Four place seating
Front seats w/ orthopedic backrests
Reinforced Front Seat Springs
Velour Seats
Metallic or Std Paint

For the SDL

All of the above plus:

Sunroof
Adjustable rear seat
Heated Seats (F/R)

For the SEC

Rear head Restraints.

Did you call those guys here in Arlington, Sam and Joe's? Their work is excellent.

Can I assume you scored those four place seats from an SEC?

Guess it was an 88, I know it didn't have the 89-91 interior.

Wonder how I can tell if my 4 place/ortho/heated seats have reinforced springs?

It's only for the fronts to have the beefier springs. I haven't a clue how to tell, probably by VIN codes... Was that four place seating a direct swap?

I'm in process of installing Euro bumpers on my SDL too to match the lights and wipers. You should do that too. REALLY cleans up the car.

Oh no, they are true 560SEL sedan seats. Fronts don't fold forward, and the rear seats have their pwr adjustments on the center console as opposed to the door panels. The only thing is they have the burl wood and I need to find a rear console from a 420SEL with the right wood. I also have a navy blue set too if ever I have two SDL'S again.

Oh wow, I've only seen a few 560SELs with the four place out back. So you have an extra four place?

Also, I'm in progress of swapping to all burl in my SDL, I have the door wood and ash tray thus far only. I think that will really make the interior slick.

Do you know if that Leatherique stuff you used can be used on a dashboard trim?

I almost bought a 1987 420SEL with the 4 place seating for $1,000 2 years ago, talk about rare. but didn't react quickly enough.

I thought about that, but my Zebrano wood is near perfect in mine and I like the black lines in it that match the black leather. I LOVE the burl with saddle and the lighter leathers.

As I recall Leatherique can be used on vinyl too. The webpage is/was very informative.
