Euro vs American ride height?
So I noticed that my Euro 300d is about 2-4cm lower than my American 300TD. I went to look at a Euro 300TD this weekend and it was the same height as my sedan. So I'm wondering if this is one of the less obvious differences between a Euro and non? Or is a year difference (my American 300TD is an 80 and the Euros were 83 and 85)?

Are you looking at the front or rear height? If the rear height varies its because the SLS is set (adjusted) differently. There is a amll arm attached to the rear sway bar that connects to the levelling valve and this sets the rear height.
If the nitrogen cells are getting old (most are after 4 or 5 years) then a weak one will allow a lowered height after the car sets for while (engine off). If OTOH you were measuring front chassis height it could be different shocks or weak springs. The spec is I believe the same between a Euro wagon and a US version.

I measured at the front. The two euros were ~ exactly the same height. Are there any other multiple w123 owners in here with both kinds that can verify this? I fail to understand how shocks could cause this. Springs I could see. My Euro has only 150k miles on its which is semi verifiable.
