Fast but why use "two five litre digger engines to produce 750 brake horse power"? The audi r10 uses a 5.5litre, bi turbo I guess, to achieve 650hp. And that's an engine that finished first in 24hrs Le Mans. I'm sure the audi engineers could squize more than 800hp, as the engine is need to last only some km.

their engines could do. They are backhoe engines and not race engines like in the Audi's. Louis.

It was unclear as the engines put out 750hp each or 1500hp together?
JCB and Audi are in different markets I doubt JCB is going to start producing cars and similarly I doubt you'll see auto union rings on a backhoe anytime soon. That might not look so cool parked in the valet lot next to the S8. The Dodge Ram that they raced at Bonneville some years ago that clipped 141 with nearly stock ride height had 890 lbft of torque as I recall and that was from 5.9 liters. They must be squeezing everything those 5 liters have out of them. |

Here is a new article on the JCB DIESELMAX setting the new world speed record for a diesel-engine car.

Still 750 HP, 1100 Lb/Ft of torque out of five liters. Not all that impressive. I expect something more outrageous, especially considering what can be done with a 5.9L Cummins 6BT.
